What is The Colony at Pelican Landing?
Answer: The Colony at Pelican Landing is a gated, upscale residential community of 809 acres located within the larger master-planned community Pelican Landing, situated west of Highway 41 on the waters of Estero Bay in Bonita Springs, Florida.
What types of homes are available in The Colony?
Answer: Residences range from high-rise and mid-rise condominiums to low-rise condos, villas, and single-family homes. From more modest condos to luxurious high-rise units with Gulf or bay views, The Colony offers a variety of home types for different lifestyles and needs.
What amenities are included for Colony residents?
Answer: Residents enjoy a broad array of amenities, including:
• Exclusive access to the private The Colony Bay Club for dining and social events.
• Use of community facilities through Pelican Landing — such as a private beach park, yacht/kayak/canoe facilities, tennis, pickleball, bocce courts, and a marina.
• Access (optional) to a private 18-hole golf course via The Colony Golf & Country Club — with spa, fitness center, clubhouse dining, and more.
Do residents have access to Pelican Landing amenities beyond The Colony?
Answer: Yes. Because The Colony lies within the Pelican Landing community, Colony residents also get access to many of Pelican Landing’s shared amenities — such as the Pelican Landing Beach Park (on Big Hickory Island), the broader community’s fitness center, community center events, parks, and more.
What is the private Beach Park and how is it accessed?
Answer: The private Beach Park is located on a 34-acre island at the northern tip of Big Hickory Island. Residents reach it via a scenic shuttle boat ride across Estero Bay — and may even spot dolphins or manatees en route. Once there, they can enjoy a calm, uncrowded beach with a pavilion, restrooms, seating, and beach umbrellas and lounges (bring your own towel).
Is golf membership required to live in The Colony?
Answer: No. Golf membership at The Colony Golf & Country Club is optional. Residents may choose to join if they want to access the golf course, clubhouse, spa, and related amenities — but living in The Colony does not automatically require a golf membership.
What makes The Colony a desirable community?
Answer: The Colony combines the privacy and security of a gated enclave with a wide variety of upscale amenities — both within The Colony and in Pelican Landing at large. With waterfront access, a private island beach, golf, kayaking, social dining, and diverse housing options, residents enjoy resort-style living in a quaint, stable, mature, and well-maintained community.
How is The Colony managed and who should I contact for questions?
