Visitors Coming to Town? Tips for Entertaining Guests at The Colony

With summer fast approaching, the entertaining season begins as family and friends will be making their way down to your little piece of paradise for a visit. Choosing between all of the great things to do in Southwest Florida can be quite tough, but residents of The Colony don’t have to travel far to entertain visitors as there are a number of fun Florida activities right at The Colony Golf and Bay Club.

The Pelican Landing Beach Park

The beach – it draws many visitors in each year and even convinces some of them to stay! Bring your visitors to the Pelican Landing Beach Park for some fun in the sun. Both residents and their guests of The Colony have access to this private beach and it’s a great way for your guests to enjoy the beauty of Southwest Florida without having to navigate all of the typical summer beach traffic. A brief retreat on the white sands of this beautiful beach park while catching a striking sunset is the perfect way to spend a weekday afternoon.

Kayak & Canoe Park

Kayaking and canoeing are a great way for guests to enjoy the natural beauty of Southwest Florida. Luckily, The Colony makes getting out on the water a breeze. You and your visitors can head to the Kayak & Canoe Park for a lovely afternoon paddle on Spring Creek. This can be one of the best ways to get a view of the stunning Florida sunsets that out of town folks love to see. If you haven’t had a chance to visit the park yourself because you’re new to the activity, take a look at my recent blog post with some tips for new kayakers/canoers.

Tennis

For visitors that like to stay active, The Colony is one of the best spots for a friendly game of tennis. With six Har-Tru tennis courts, you and your visitors can get a match or two in before dinner. If your guests did not bring their tennis gear, bring them to the helpful Pro-Shop nearby to pick up their gear.

Dining

Southwest Florida has a number of fabulous dining options, but few restaurants can beat the view of that the Bay Club offers of beautiful Estero Bay in Bonita Springs, FL. Ask guests to join you for a delectable dinner while taking in a fabulous Florida sunset in the casual dining lounge or on the dining terrace. With two private dining rooms, you can also host a private meal at The Bay Club for your visitors.
