What’s Happening in Southwest Florida?

Southwest Florida, without a doubt, is one of the most ideal places to live in the country. I firmly believe this, thanks to a combination of great weather, great people, excellent amenities, and a lively environment with lots going on all year round.

Lately, that has remained true. Here is a rundown of what’s happened in Southwest Florida and what is coming up soon.

Bonita Springs National Art Festival

If you weren’t in Bonita Springs on February 8th and 9th for the city’s National Art Festival, you missed out. The Festival, one of the most highly-rated art festivals in the country, brought culture and art to countless visitors a week ago with over 200 artists exhibiting from 32 states and several countries. From classic styles to modern art, this festival had it all – which means you have to mark it down on your calendar when it comes back into town in 2015!

7th Annual Florida Juried Photography Exhibit

Speaking of art, any photography lover should head over to the 7th Annual Juried Photography Exhibit to check out the latest juried photography contest in the Sunshine State. Judged by renowned photographer Clyde Butcher, this year’s exhibit focuses on the great outdoors of Florida and can be seen at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve until March 1st.

FineMark Tour Players Tennis Classic 2014

Hosted at the Bonita Bay Club, the 2014 FineMark Tour Players Tennis Classic brings some of the world’s best tennis players together in an epic contest that kicks off on February 28th. If you love tennis, you have to check out this event and see fantastic tennis action up close and personal.

Mark Your Calendars, Bonita Springs, for These Local Events

Bonita Springs is a great place to live, work, play, raise a family, and enjoy the weather – no matter what season it may be!

This fall, you can help ring in the holiday season with a few fun-filled events that will be taking place in Bonita Springs over the next month:

Rockin’ at Riverside Park

If you like free concerts – and who doesn’t? – the city will play host to the first of several concerts held at Riverside Park, starting on Friday, December 6, 2013, from 5pm to 9pm. The next concert will be held in January, so make sure you stop by to get your fill of music by the Imperial River.

Holiday in the Park

Speaking of Riverside Park, you can also start enjoying the holiday season at the same location on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Enjoy live entertainment, rides by train and horse and carriage, a beautifully decorated park, and, of course, the city’s official Christmas tree lighting.

Bonita Springs Concert Band Series

If you’re in the mood for more music, return to Riverside Park on Sunday, December 8 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm for a free concert hosted by the Bonita Springs Concert Band. Nothing beats a free concert, especially one from such a talented and entertaining group of musicians. Plus, it’s right before the hustle of the Christmas season, meaning you can get some much needed relaxation to prepare you for a busy, busy week.

Feel free to explore Bonita Springs and Riverside Park as you also enjoy the wealth of amenities and activities waiting for you at The Colony at Pelican Landing. If you have any questions about the high-quality living and lifestyle of The Colony, all you have to do is ask. Enjoy the park!
