Bonita Springs’ Newest Attraction – the Center for Performing Arts – Is Now Open!

If there is one thing that draws countless visitors to Bonita Springs each year, it’s our attractions. Now, residents and visitors alike have yet another attraction: the much-anticipated Center for Performing Arts.

Yesterday, the Center for Performing Arts opened its doors for the first time with a fantastic show performed by jazz guitarist Dan Heck and his ensemble. The show, “The Legends of Jazz”, premiered at the Hinman Auditorium to a crowd of 400 and kicked off the first of what will be many entertaining shows and spectacles at the new center.

The Center consists of 29,000 square feet of space containing not only the Hinman Auditorium but also the Moe Auditorium & Film Center, space for theatre performances, and space for dance and music instruction and performances.

Next week, the Center is poised to offer “An Evening with Maxine Carter” on the 14th, followed by “Plaza Suite by Neil Simon” January 23-26, and the city’s first improv festival, “Improviganzapalooza Fest 2014”.

If you weren’t at the Center last night for the show, you definitely have plenty of chances to stop by and pay a visit to Bonita’s newest jewel. If you like movies, you also can stop by each Monday evening for the “Films for Film Lovers” series – which gives you a stellar selection from the world of cinema each Monday night at 7pm for $9 per person, followed by a discussion about the film.

Bonita Springs is definitely a lively and festive place to live, with plenty of things to do and see throughout the entire year. As the Center for Performing Arts shows, it’s not just about our white-sand beaches – it’s also about the arts! Stop by and pay a visit to take in the latest our city has to offer.
